About Sobel & Collins

Sobel & Collins is a law firm established in Clearfield in 1983. The partners are John A Sobel, IV and Ronald L Collins. We are dedicated to giving you courteous, confidential and vigorous legal representation.

John A Sobel, IV received his BA from Vanderbilt University in 1975 and his JD from the Dickinson School of Law in 1979. He has variously been the Solicitor for Clearfield County Children, Youth & Family Services, a standing Master in Divorce, and the Chief Public Defender of Clearfield County. He currently serves as Commissioner for Clearfield County. His practice now consists mainly of real estate, wills, estates, domestic relations, and various civil matters.

Ronald L Collins received his BA from the Pennsylvania State University in 1979 and his JD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. His practice currently emphasizes criminal defense including all types of offenses from simple traffic citations to DUI/DWI's to assaults to thefts to drug offenses and homicides.

The clerical staff currently consists of Amy Ball. Amy attended Cambria Rowe Business College and also received her Paralegal from PennState University in 1997. Amy has been with us since 1997 and is thoroughly familiar with all our office procedures and is quite knowledgeable about the various aspects of our practice.

The office cat is named Jeckyll. We adopted him at one year of age from the SCPA in 2003. He is quite friendly and curious, and he will no doubt greet you when you come to see us.
